The Good Morning Show Live: John Fallon, Dolores Keaveney & Sandra Donnellan

John Fallon

John Fallon

Hi John Fallon here, The Good Morning Show on Wednesdays is a mixture of music, local community information, drama and humour.

The idea I have for the show is to provide a light hearted two hours of relaxing entertainment to our community, especially in these challenging times.

I try to have as many guests as possible, however since March we are restricted in what we can do over the phone. I also try to incorporate a small play into my show, if I have the time!

I start preparing for each show from Thursday and spend two to three hours each day until the following Tuesday to collect songs and data. I either record from home or live from the studio my main aim is to bring light hearted content to each show every Wednesday whatever the situation may be.

I am very grateful to Alan and the team for having me as a presenter.

Dolores Keaveney

Dolores Keaveney

Hi, I’m Dolores and I do the Good Morning Show on Sunday Mornings. I also do the Good Morning Show during the week if another presenter is unavailable for any reason.

During these shows I always include famous Birthdays, playing a song from at least one musician born on that day, I read out Irish historical facts and global historical facts and match them with relevant song if possible. I always include a “Thought of the Day” also.

I remind people of what’s going on the TV and play some soundtrack music. I often read out stories or poetry that has been sent to me .
I have interviewed singers, songwriters, authors artists and fundraisers and even a Guinness Book Record holder over the years.

I prepare a playlist for every show but change as the morning goes on reacting to messages from the public. I pride myself on playing a good mixture of all sorts of music to suit all tastes and ages.

I enjoy doing the Good Morning Shows and try to emulate the other presenter as much as possible when I’m standing in for them while keeping a little of myself in the mix.

Sandra Donnellan

Hi all, I’m Sandra Donnellan and I produce and present The Friday Good Morning Show live each Friday from 9 – 11 am.

My preparation for my show normally begins as soon as my last show has ended, this includes listening to music on YouTube and creating my playlist and saving it to my USB Stick, Endless paperwork and written notes to accompany everything, research and arranging guests and future guests for upcoming events and shows and broadcasts, working and liaising with staff, management and other presenters and the local community.

I like to aim high and I don’t wait for a opportunity to create itself I chase it down ! I like to stay updated and understand and relate with my guests and my audience.

When broadcasting live one has to be prepared for anything and everything to happen so it’s best to have a plan B if it doesn’t go quite as expected. I prefer broadcasting live as I feel that’s where the magic happens. Its real and it’s not meant to be perfect that’s what gives me my radio buzz and my drive. I’m certainly not boring or predictable and I love to captivate my audience to keep them tuned in.

I wear my passions on my sleeve and I honestly enjoy it immensely. I always endeavour to listen back to my show so I can improve and be my own critic, I can also laugh randomly at myself with some of the statements I come out with! In the words of Shakespeare himself “The Earth has Music for those who Listen”.
