Were you at the Claremorris Red Cross Volunteer of the Year Awards last week?
Members and supporters of Claremorris Community Radio went along to show support for the nominees, many of whom have appeared on the radio in relation to their volunteering activities.
One award winner who has appeared on CCR more than most was Andrew Newman, who was nominated in recognition of more than 15 years’ involvement in the station, including his long-running and globally popular classical music programme, Classical Sounds.
Andrew says: “Thanks to everyone in CCR for nominating me for this award, it is much appreciated. (FYI the photo has me cross-eyed, I’m not!)”
Everyone at Claremorris Community Radio would like to congratulate Andrew on this well-deserved award.
Classical Sounds is broadcast live every Sunday from 3 to 5 pm, with single hours repeated on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 pm.
