This Friday, June 19th, is National Community Radio Day. To celebrate this special event for the station and the entire Community Radio sector, we will be conducting an almost day-long outside broadcast from The Square here in Claremorris!
The day kicks off with a special, out-and-about edition of The Good Morning Show, hosting by Michael Fox in Araby Coffee House. Following a brief hour-long return to the studios, the rest of the day will be produced from our stand on The Square.
Here is Friday’s on-air schedule:
- 9-11 am: The Good Morning Show, Michael Fox, Araby Coffee House
- 11-12: Catherine Lavery-O’Brien, live from the studio on Town Hall Road
- 12-1 pm: Andrew Newman and John Nolan, The Square
- 1-2 pm: Dolores Keaveney
- 2-3 pm: John Whittle
- 3-4 pm: Roderick Maguire and Johnny Kirrane
- 4-5 pm: Anne McLoughlin
The stand in The Square will be manned by volunteers and staff throughout the day, so everyone is free to pop in for a chat, to find out more about the station and/or to get a request played on-air.
This doesn’t mean the studios themselves will be closed down for the day though. Far from it, as they will in fact be open to all. There’ll even be free tea and coffee available for anyone who visits the studios during the day!
