Texts and WhatsApps
Even though we’re not broadcasting from the studios, and live programmes are on hold for the moment, listeners have still been getting in touch via WhatsApp and text to 087 326 2007.
We remotely check the textline regularly and forward any messages to presenters. As well as requests, personal messages and announcements, we have received some lovely comments on shows. Here is a flavour of the great feedback we are getting from listeners in lockdown…
Lovely to hear every day happenings of rural life on local radio these days! The majority of your listeners are rural. The forgotten people of Ireland. Vincie
This show is bringing back memories of my late dad recalling his job tatty hawking in scotland with lads from Achill and Belmullet. It was seasonal work and living in bothies on the farm for little money. Enjoyable show. Kathleen
Really enjoying the tunes and nice info on the tracks also.

Hello Claremorris. I love listening 2 Liam and Martin. It feels like they are chatting by the fireside, so homely! Gaynor
Beautiful song to commemorate the victims of the Covid 19. Beautifully presented show! Gráinne
Online listening figures
Members will already know about the increased online listenership that we saw in the two months following the introduction of the lockdown. The latest numbers show that trend continuing.
In the two months from 30th March to 31st May, there were 27,474 total online listeners – that is total connections to the station during that period.
And those connections were made by a whopping 10,955 unique listeners. What’s even better is that the average listening time has shown a clear upward trend as well.
As a small community station it’s much harder for us to get FM listenership figures. If you know of FM listeners who are enjoying our station for the first time, we’d love to hear from them!
